INVESTING IN AFRICA
A Guide to Profitable Investment Opportunities in Africa, by John Egyawan

INTRODUCTION

One of the world's continents is known as Africa. Being the second-largest continent and having the second-highest population, it has a rich and varied culture. Wildlife is another area in which Africans take great pride. However, in the business sector, a lot of individuals are hesitant to invest in Africa. An investor in Africa might discover a very unstable continent. Many are hesitant because, despite its abundance of natural resources, Africa is still the world's least developed and poorest continent. Many people in the corporate world wish to change this, among other things.

Is investing in Africa really secure and wise? This is a question that cannot be avoided. If someone wishes to invest in Africa, there are many factors to take into account. According to numerous academics, Africa's economy is quite promising and has tremendous potential.
However, why don't more people take a chance on investing? The answer is that many still struggle to forget how the African continent was when they were younger. According to academics, the nations in 1995 are not the same nations in 2011. They have all advanced.

Although Africa has strong economic potential, many businesses choose to ignore it or decide to place their money elsewhere. Researchers are still researching the continent's economy, and they believe that investing in Africa is a wise decision. Additionally, it is crucial for Africa
to maintain and strengthen its trade ties, particularly with domestic and international investors. Africa has advanced significantly over the past ten years and has made some
adjustments to the business environment. And just in 2007, the People's Republic of China made a total of $1 billion in investments in Africa.

Africa is improving, despite once being in a poor situation. Despite the numerous issues it has faced and is facing now, there is still an economic promise. One of the best-kept secrets in the world, according to former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, is Africa's economic success. The aforementioned continent still has a lot of unexplored resources. One day, Investment Africa should be able to utilize these resources. Investors in Africa would decide
whether to invest there or not. The enigmatic continent of Africa is full of wonders just waiting to be uncovered.

IN THEIR FOOTSTEPS
The Christian Mandate for Social Justice, by John Egyawan

INTRODUCTION

The Call Echoes Through Ages In every age, the call for justice resounds through the corridors of history, a persistent echo that speaks of humanity's deepest longing for fairness, dignity, and equality. For Christians, this call is not merely a societal or political rallying cry but a divine mandate, deeply rooted in the narratives of Scripture and the life of Jesus Christ. "In Their Footsteps: The Christian Mandate for Social Justice" seeks to explore this sacred calling, tracing its origins from the dusty paths of ancient Israel through the bustling streets of first-century Palestine to our contemporary world, bustling with both progress and pain.

At the heart of this exploration stands Moses, a figure of liberation, who, despite his initial reluctance and perceived inadequacy, became the instrument through which God delivered the Israelites from bondage. His story is not just one of ancient history; it is a testament to the power of one individual, moved by compassion and divine call, to stand against the injustices of his time. Moses' journey from the palace to the wilderness, and eventually to the Promised Land, underscores a foundational truth: the pursuit of social justice often begins with a single step, a single voice, raised not out of expertise but out of a deep care for humanity.

Yet, the narrative does not end with Moses. It finds its most profound expression in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Through His parables, miracles, and interactions, Jesus modeled a radical form of social justice that emphasized love, mercy, and compassion above all. The Beatitudes, for example, serve not only as blessings but as a revolutionary call to action, urging us to comfort the mourning, seek righteousness, and make peace. Jesus' ministry among the marginalized and His critique of the power structures of His day challenge us to consider our role in addressing the injustices of our time.

The disciples and the early Christian communities continued this legacy, understanding that following Jesus meant advocating for justice within their societies. Their actions, from sharing their possessions to supporting the widowed and orphaned, illustrate the transformative power of community in pursuit of social justice.

Today, we stand in a long line of believers called to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God (Micah 6:8). Yet, in the face of overwhelming injustice, it can be easy to feel discouraged, to wonder what difference one person can make. "In Their Footsteps" invites you to rediscover the power of faith to inspire change, to see that the journey towards justice, though fraught with challenges, is also filled with hope and possibility.

This book is a call to awaken the Christian conscience to the realities of social injustice and to the potential within each of us to make a difference. It is a call to remember that, like Moses and Jesus, we do not need to be experts to advocate for justice; we need only to care deeply about the plight of our fellow human beings. By exploring the biblical foundations of social justice, reflecting on the examples of those who have walked this path before us, and considering practical steps we can take today, we embark on a journey that is both deeply personal and profoundly communal.

As we turn these pages together, let us be inspired by the lives of Moses, Jesus, and the countless others who have followed in their footsteps. Let their stories remind us that the pursuit of social justice is not just an optional aspect of our faith but its very essence. And let us move forward, in their footsteps, with courage and conviction, to answer the call of our time.

What makes this work particularly poignant is its call to action. It is not content with merely presenting an analysis; it urges African societies and indeed, the global community, to embrace a more inclusive understanding of family structures. It advocates for a world where polygamy is recognized not as a relic of the past but as a living, breathing aspect of African culture that continues to have relevance and value.

DIVINE WISDOM HUMAN KNOWLEDGE
A Christian Guide to Seeking Experience, by John Egyawan

INTRODUCTION

A Personal Journey
Growing up in a devout Christian household, our family pastor was always a source of wisdom and guidance. I witnessed his comforting words bring solace to many, and his spiritual advice genuinely changed lives. However, as I grew older, I started to notice that people weren't just seeking his spiritual counsel. They began to seek his advice in areas that fell outside his realm of expertise: finances, education, health, and more. As a deeply respectful figure, his thoughts were often taken as ultimate truth, leading some to make critical life decisions based on his guidance.

The Problem with Overreliance on Pastoral Advice
Scripture tells us in Proverbs 11:14, "Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety." The phrase 'abundance of counselors' is key here. While spiritual advice from pastors is invaluable, the Bible encourages seeking counsel from various sources, especially those who specialize in the area of concern.

Some people have fallen into the trap of turning to their pastors for advice on every single matter. While it is true that God can provide divine wisdom, it is also crucial to understand that He has blessed others with specialized knowledge and skills to help in specific areas. An overreliance on pastoral advice in matters outside of spiritual guidance can be misleading, causing undue harm, and, in some cases, tearing families apart.

The Objective of the Book
This book aims to help Christians understand the importance of seeking advice from experts in various fields while still respecting and appreciating the spiritual guidance provided by pastors. It is not intended to discredit or devalue pastoral advice but to balance it with the counsel of professionals. We should remember what Romans 12:6-8 tells us: "Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness." In essence, everyone has been given different gifts and skills by God, and it is beneficial to make use of this collective expertise.

In the chapters that follow, we will delve into the Bible's teachings on wisdom and expertise, explore the importance of specialized advice, look at the potential consequences of misguided pastoral counsel, and provide guidance on communicating your needs to your pastor and community effectively.

Our journey starts with understanding the actual role of pastors in a Christian's life, as highlighted in the scriptures and the historical context of Christianity. The role that pastors play in our lives is fundamental to our spiritual journey. However, recognizing the boundaries of their expertise is equally vital for our well-being in other areas of life. Let's embark on this enlightening journey together.

THE CROSS & THE SWORD
Navigating Christianity, Self-Defense, and Military Service, by John Egyawan

BOOK DESCRIPTION

In "The Cross and The Sword," readers are invited to explore the profound and often challenging intersection of Christian faith with the realities of self-defense and military service. This thoughtful examination delves into the complex questions of whether and how Christians are called to bear arms, given the teachings of peace and non-violence central to the faith.

Structured across ten comprehensive chapters, the book navigates through scriptural analysis, theological debate, historical context, and modern implications to offer a balanced view on a topic that has divided theologians, laypeople, and clergy alike for centuries. From the pacifist teachings of Jesus Christ to the martial histories of Old Testament figures, and onto the modern-day dilemmas faced by Christian soldiers in ethical and psychological battles, "The Cross and The Sword" provides an in-depth look at the biblical foundations, ethical dilemmas, and theological perspectives surrounding Christians and warfare.

The book not only revisits historical precedents—such as the early Church's stance on military service and the transformative impact of Constantine's conversion—but also engages with contemporary issues like global terrorism, national defense, and peacekeeping missions. It challenges readers to reconsider widely held beliefs about the compatibility of faith and force, offering fresh insights into the roles that Christians can and do play in military contexts.

"The Cross and The Sword" is designed for anyone seeking to deepen their understanding of Christian ethics in times of war. It is an essential resource for theology students, church leaders, military chaplains, and believers navigating their personal convictions about violence and peace. Through a careful blend of scholarship and accessible writing, the book aims to equip its readers with the knowledge and wisdom needed to navigate these ethical landscapes with faithfulness and integrity.

Ultimately, this book encourages a dialogue that is crucial not only for the growth of individual believers but also for the broader Christian community as it faces ongoing and emerging challenges in a conflicted world. It is a call to thoughtful action, reflection, and a deeper understanding of what it means to live out one's faith in times of peace and conflict.
